Welcome to the Chance For Change Challenge!
Every month I will be releasing a new 30-day challenge that I personally will be pushing myself through and invite you to do the same.
This month we’re doing Meditation March.
So for every day in March I will be forcing myself to meditate once a day for no less than 5 minutes. Even on days that I find it harder to quiet the mind, I force myself to sit there even if only to meditate on a goal or something that stimulates me a bit more.
On most mornings, however, I will be doing the 6 phase meditation created by Vishen Lakhiani. It’s a really nice sequence to help control your thoughts because it gives them something tangible.
The 6 phases go like this:
1. Surround yourself with love
It could be the face of a person or even an animal. See them smiling at you. Out of you emanates white light. Watch this light grow and fill up the room you are in, touching everything in it. Then watch it fill up your house, town, country, and earth. As the white light stretches across the borders everything in it is touched by love.
2. Gratitude
Say 3 things you’re grateful for right now, 3 things you’re grateful for about your job, and 3 things you love about yourself.
3. Forgiveness
Find that anger thats blocking you wether to someone who wronged you or to yourself. Feel that pain of hurt inside you, hold it for a brief moment, and then let it go. Forgive them into love.
4. The dream
Take yourself on a walkthrough of the future life you desire. What does your career look like? Your love life? Family? Houses and/ or places you want to live? Walk yourself through a day in the life of the new you and feel all the emotions that come with it.
5. The perfect day
Now take yourself to the present moment and visualize how you want your day to look. What do you want to accomplish? How will you treat other people? Deal with stressful situations? What can you do for yourself today that can help you achieve your goals?
6. The blessing
Connecting to a higher power. You don’t have to believe in any particular religion, but connect to something bigger than yourself. Have faith in the universe thats working in your favor. Be grateful for choosing you for the life you get to live.
This was the sequence provided in his book “The Code of the Extraordinary Mind” but note that every 6 months he revises and improves it.
